Work Completed!!!

Work Completed
·         Paved surface layer of asphalt pavement

The contractor will continue to monitor the sod to ensure a healthy stand of grass is established.

The major construction work is now completed for the project.

Final Surface Paving Scheduled

Work Completed Last Week, October 10th to 14th  
·         Completed Landscape restoration along Ronald Road and Glendale Road
·         Completed roadway repair near Greenwood Road

·         Performed minor repairs to improvements that were noted during walk-through with Village, contractor, and engineer

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, October 17th to 21st

Following all repairs identified being made, the final layer of asphalt surface will be installed. It is anticipated this work will be completed next week or early the week of October 24th.

Landscape Restoration nearly Completed

·         Paved first layer of asphalt pavement along Glendale Road

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, October 3rd to 7th  
·         Complete sod restoration along project site.
·         Complete repair of roadway that rutted near Greenwood Road
·         Complete minor repairs to underground utility improvements
·         Perform final walk-through with Village, contractor, and engineer.

The project is nearing completion.  The first layer of asphalt has been installed along the entire project site. Landscape restoration with new topsoil and sod is nearly completed.

The contractor is continuing to make some minor repairs and adjustments to the underground utility improvements.  Once all repairs are made, a final walk-through will be performed with Village staff, the contractor, and engineering staff to ensure all repairs are completed. 

Following all repairs identified being made, the final layer of asphalt surface will be installed. It is anticipated this work will be completed in the next 1 to 2 weeks.

Underground Utilities Completed. Concrete Work Completed. Roadway Improvements Continue

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, September 19th to 23rd  
·         Continue with abandonment of fire hydrants and valves from old system along project site

·         Continue with utility structure adjustments along entire project site
·         Fine grading of previously installed topsoil along Ronald Road

·         Complete fine grading of Glendale Road
·         Pave first layer of asphalt pavement along Glendale Road, scheduled for Friday, September 23rd.

The majority of underground utility improvements are now completed for the entire project. The remaining work includes performing final testing, making minor repairs as needed, and adjusting the structure frames to the final elevations.

The majority of the concrete curb & gutter and driveway work is also completed along the project site. A walk-through will be performed to identify any defects, but any repairs should be minor.  Asphalt driveway restorations are scheduled in the next few weeks as the first layer of asphalt pavement along Glendale Road is paved.

The contractor will focus on getting the roadway graded for paving of the first layer of asphalt pavement along Glendale Road. As with the Ronald Road paving, this will be a significant project milestone that will allow for a smooth driving surface and greatly reduce the amount of dust on the project site.

The contractor is also anticipating to perform landscape restorations by fine grading topsoil and installing sod along Ronald Road and topsoil installation along Glendale Road.

Water Improvements to be Completed. Concrete Work along Glendale Road On-Going

Work Completed Last Week, August 29th to September 2nd
·         Started water service replacements along Glendale Road
·         Excavated for concrete curb & gutter and driveway replacement along north side of Glendale Road
·         Installed and rough graded topsoil along Ronald Road behind previously installed concrete curb & gutter and driveways.
·         General site clean-up in preparation for Labor Day Weekend.

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, September 5th to September 9th
·         Complete water service replacements along Glendale Road
·         Make final connection between existing water main and new water main near Glendale Road and Warren Road
·         Abandon old fire hydrants and valves from old water system
·         Excavate and form concrete curb & gutter and driveways on south side of Glendale Road and cul-de-sac
·         Pour concrete curb & gutter and driveways on south side of Glendale Road and cul-de-sac

The contractor will complete water service replacements along Glendale Road this week. Water services will be replaced from the new water main to the existing valve and box located in front of each home. During the water service replacement, water to individual homes will be shut-off for approximately 2-3 hours while the transition from the old service to the new service is made. The contractor will notify each resident individually regarding the approximate time and day of the water shut-off prior to turning off the water.

The final connection between the old water main and the new water main is also schedule this week. In order to make this connection, the water will need to be turned off. The Village of Glenview Water Department will notify those residents affected by the shut-down the day prior to the work occurring.

Once the water services are completed and the final connection is made, the underground utility portion of the project will be completed. The contractor will also begin abandoning the old water system by removing the old fire hydrants and water valves along the project.

The contractor has also started preparing for concrete curb & gutter replacement on the north side of Glendale Road. It is anticipated the concrete curb & gutter and driveways on the north side of Glendale Road will be completed by the end of the week.

The contractor will then begin excavating and framing for the curb & gutter on the south side of Glendale Road and cul-de-sac. The concrete curb & gutter and driveway replacement on the south side of Glendale Road, including the cul-de-sac, will be started this week and should be completed early next week.

1st Layer of Asphalt Installed on Ronald Road. Water Services and Curb and Gutter Replacement to Begin on Glendale Road

During the water service replacement, water to individual homes will be shut-off for approximately 2-3 hours while the transition from the old service to the new service is made. The contractor is anticipating to begin concrete curb & gutter and driveway replacements along the north side of Glendale Road this week. Depending on work progress, the contractor may frame and pour the concrete as well. During the excavation process, residents will have access to their driveways at the end of each working day. Once the forming is completed and concrete is poured, driveway access will be restricted for approximately 5 days. Residents will be notified regarding timing of driveway restrictions via a letter on your door.

·         Backfilling behind curb & gutter previously replaced

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, August 15th to 19th
·         Complete roadway excavation along Ronald Road
·         Complete concrete curb & gutter and driveway replacement along Ronald Road
·         Begin prepping aggregate base course for first layer of asphalt pavement
·         Perform required testing and receive necessary approvals prior to placing the new water main into service within the second section of new water main installed along Glendale Road from Ronald Road to Warren Road.

The concrete work along Ronald Road is anticipated to be completed by the end of the week. The contractor is also scheduled to complete the roadway excavation and grading prior to paving the first layer of asphalt pavement. The first layer of asphalt pavement along Ronald Road from Greenwood Road to Glendale Road is scheduled to be paved early the week of August 22nd.  This will be a major project milestone for this section of the roadway. Once the first layer of asphalt is paved, a smooth driving surface will be provided and the amount of dust will be greatly reduced in this area.

Curb & Gutter Replacement On-Going. Storm Sewer on Glendale Continues

·         Began removal replacement of existing concrete curb & gutter along Ronald Road from Greenwood Road to Glendale Road, south side of roadway.
·         Completed water service replacements along Ronald Road

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, August 1st to August 5th
·         Complete storm sewer construction
·         Begin storm sewer service installation
·         Perform required testing and receive necessary approvals prior to placing the new water main into service within the second section of new water main installed along Glendale Road from Ronald Road to Warren Road.
·         Continue concrete curb & gutter and driveway replacements on the south side of Ronald Road from Greenwood Road to Glendale Road

The contractor will continue removing the concrete curb & gutter along the SOUTH side of Ronald Road from Greenwood Road to Glendale Road. During this construction operation, the concrete curb & gutter in front of each home will be removed. Temporary stone ramps will be installed at each drive to provide access. The amount of time each resident is restricted from using their driveway during the removal process should be limited.

The contractor will continue pouring the new concrete curb & gutter on the south side of Ronald Road from Greenwood Road to Glendale Road this week as well. During this process, residents will be restricted from using their driveways for approximately 1 week to allow for the curb & gutter to be installed and proper curing time of the concrete. Residents will be able to park on the opposite side of the street during non-working hours. During working hours (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM), we request you park on adjacent streets outside the construction zone. Residents will be notified via letter regarding the day access will be restricted and timeframe for access being restored.

Thank you for all your patience and understanding as the roadway improvements have continued and residents are with access to their driveways during the concrete pouring and curing process. It is anticipated all the concrete work along the south side of Ronal Road from Greenwood Road to Glendale Road will be completed by the end of the week.

After a delay in acquiring the necessary parts to complete the storm sewer improvements Glendale Road, the contractor will again be installing new storm sewer along Glendale Road this week. It is anticipated mainline storm sewer will be completed by the end of the week, with storm sewer service installation the following week.

Now that the necessary approvals are received to place the newly installed water main into service along Ronald Road from Greenwood Road to Glendale Road, the contractor has began replacing water services to individual homes. Water services will be replaced from the new water main to the existing valve and box located in front of each home. During the water service replacement, water to individual homes will be shut-off for approximately 2-3 hours while the transition from the old service to the new service is made. The contractor will notify each resident individually regarding the approximate time and day of the water shut-off prior to turning off the water.

Depending on when the required approvals are received, the contractor may begin water service placements along Glendale Road from Ronald Road to Warren Road.

The contractor is hoping to complete the mainline storm sewer installation by the end of next week.

Work Anticipated to be completed Next week, July 4th to July 8th  
·         No work on-site on July 4th
·         Continue with storm sewer construction
·         Complete sanitary sewer service replacements
·         Complete required sanitary sewer repairs.
·         Continue to perform required testing and received necessary approvals prior to placing the new water main into service within the second section of new water main installed along Glendale Road from Ronald Road to Warren Road.

The contractor is expected to complete the sanitary sewer service replacement and mainline repairs by the end of next week. This is a little later than anticipated, but the contractor uncovered a few unexpected issues as they were performing the work.

The contractor will continue to install the new storm sewer along the project site.

The contractor received the required approvals to place the new water main into service along the first section of newly installed water main, Ronald Road from Greenwood Road to Glendale Road. The contractor anticipates beginning installation of water services to individual homes next week. Water services will be replaced from the new water main to the existing valve and box located in front of each home. During the water service replacement, water to individual homes will be shut-off for approximately 2-3 hours while the transition from the old service to the new service is made. The contractor will notify each resident individually regarding the approximate time and day of the water shut-off prior to turning off the water.

Storm Sewer and Sanitary Sewer Work Continues

 The contractor will continue to work with two crews on-site to complete the storm sewer installation and sanitary sewer service replacements as required.

The contractor is anticipating to complete the necessary sanitary sewer service replacements and sanitary sewer repairs by the end of the next week, prior to the July 4th Holiday.

The contractor is continuing to perform the required testing needed prior to placing the new water main into service and begin replacing the water services to individual homes. They anticipate water service replacements will begin following the July 4th Holiday.

Storm Sewer Installation and Sanitary Sewer Service Replacements Continue

·         Began performing required testing prior to placing the new water main into service

Work Anticipated to be completed Next week, June 20th to June 24th  
·         Continue with storm sewer construction
·         Continue with sanitary sewer service replacements
·         Complete required testing and received necessary approvals prior to placing the new water main into service.

The contractor will continue to work with two crews on-site to complete the storm sewer installation and sanitary sewer service replacements as required.

It is anticipated the contractor will receive the required approvals to place the new water main into service in the next few weeks. Once all the tests have passed and the approvals have been received, the contractor will begin water service replacements to each individual home. They anticipate this work beginning the week of July 27th.
